Powered By Eco-Friendly Web Hosting And Proud Of It

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

As more people become aware of the increasing need to adapt to a smaller carbon footprint in the wake of global warming, perhaps you’ve asked yourself, “What can I do to help?”  Let’s find out.

More and more people are coming online and using social services like Facebook and Twitter or starting their own websites and blogs.  Having your own web hosting with a personalized domain is probably one of the most effective ways of communicating with the world. Please consider the following before going out and buying your first or next web hosting account.

The data centers that are needed to run a web hosting company consume enormous amounts of electricity.  In October 2009, US Infrastructure magazine did a study on data centers and compiled some interesting facts.

Ÿ         Between 2000 and 2005, the energy consumed by large data centers doubled worldwide.

Ÿ         In 2006, online data centers in the US accounted for 1.5 percent of the entire country’s electricity use.

Ÿ         The cooling equipment needed to keep the equipment from over-heating can consume 25% of the power that goes into the operation of a data center.

The good news is, more data centers are turning to green energy, mainly wind and solar, to power their operations.  iPage web hosting is one of them.

A few years ago when eco-friendly web hosting was becoming popular, the pricing structure was at a premium, often more than double that of non-green hosting and with significant limitations on disk space and bandwidth.

In recent months, prices have been drastically reduced and web hosting companies like iPage can now offer green hosting accounts with unlimited disk space and bandwidth for only $3.50/month, under pricing even the most aggressive competition.Surprisingly, that low price includes a free Carbonite account for backing up data from your personal PC and a free domain name for life.

For webmasters not needing full hosting, iPage also offers blogging only accounts with a choice of blogging platforms, free domain name for life, 10 email accounts, online photo gallery software, enhanced security, and search engine submission so people can find your blog online.

If you are considering purchasing web hosting, take a look at carbon neutral web hosting from iPage.

BREAKING NEWS: Assistance for all Wordpress Bloggers

About me

I am self taught and have closely followed the evolution of Internet Marketing for just over five years. Every week I am overwhelmed with questions on my blog from people struggling with Internet marketing. Naturally my work earns me a modest ’salary’ but I have a genuine reason for doing what I do and this is to help people who are genuinely trying to make a living to support them selves and their dependents.

From my work I know that probably fifty percent of the Internet marketing community are genuine people but the issue is a significant number of these ‘marketers’ are not very adept at what they do and teach. Until now I have focused publishing my experiences to a tiny group of websites because their owners have been very useful in helping me with my testing.

Over Six hundred products tested

This represents just over six hundred ‘products’ that I have reviewed over a period of nearly five years, obviously a number of them are obsolete and I will only be including ‘products’ that are still available. Every product review is a direct result of me using the product for real and naturally I will be sharing the rough and the smooth with my audience.

Simple to use and organised index

To help you make the decisions that will work best for you I am going to organise the product summaries into a simple and easy to use framework and every product will be classified by the level of  knowledge required, amount you can expect to pay, effort and how soon you can expect to see results.

First Edition – The ‘blueprint’ for Wordpress blog success

The first subject I’m going to tackle is Wordpress Blogs as this is not just a great subject for newbies to begin but many blog owners don’t appreciate the opportunities they are missing. Everyone should have a blog and I am passionate about blogging as a significant amount of my ’monthly salary’ comes from blogs but and however I am fully aware that setting up a blog can be not straightforward so if you join my list I will show you step by step how to do this.

Create once and replicate

Blogs are brilliant in as much once you get one working correctly and earning ‘its keep’ then you simply replicate it. I have a fundamental rule of ‘getting a rope across the river’ before commencing on any significant amount of work so I always commence with constructing a ’concept car’ that I develop into a blueprint that I can evaluate, improve and replicate, to do this you have to really understand what products and strategies you need to use.

No bullshit, just answers.

So if you own a Wordpress blog or you want some practical and personal help with your purchases of Internet Marketing products then please do sign up to my list at www.backlinksclinic.com.

See you there

Methods From Columbus Ohio Website Design: Useful Business Blogging For Beginners

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Here is one of the secrets of Columbus Ohio web site design: Blogging. You might be hesitant to make the leap, being not so sure where to start. Many CMOs are not too excited of blogging because they don’t know what they “should” be doing.

Luckily, blogging (and social media, for that matter) is a relatively flexible media, once you understand the fact that blogging is about building networking relationships, as well as your company brand with marketing. Where should you get started?

1. Your inbox. What are clients talking about? Are there any questions you can answer? Are there conversations that you keep contemplating that might be compelling to your readers?

2. Comment on someone’s blog. What blogs are you reading? What blogs are shaping your industry? Do you have an opinion about what they’re saying?

3. Give useful advice. Most blog readers say they do so because they’re looking for ideas and advice to help solve their own situations. This is your chance to shine – Are there any services that you can offer to help solve these problems? What expertise can you dispense?

4. What have you been doing lately? Can you offer behind-the-scenes stories or insights?

5. Comment on your field. As you might have gathered, ours is Columbus Ohio website design. Are there any new developments that your students would find enthralling? Can you discuss real-world applications?

6. A picture is worth a thousand words. It’s trite, but true – photgraphs and videos are absolutely priceless. Transparency builds relationships with your customers and clients because it’s genuine.

7. E-books, especially free ones, are incredibly valuable. Publish an e-book and offer something that your future customers can’t get anywhere else. This helps establish you as an expert in your industry.

8. Share presentations with your readers. Have someone record your latest presentation or upload your slides on slideshare. Again, this helps establish you as an expert in what you do.

9. Be the News. A blog is a great place to put all of those press releases that your business issues when someone is hired, the company receives an award, etc.

10. Talk it up. Your blog should generate debate and/or exchange with your readers, rather than being a one-sided conversation. This will help spark future topics, as well as generate reader loyalty and, eventually, brand loyalty.

However, sometimes, the best of intentions don’t always work. Why? Here are some reasons:

1. Your content needs to come from a real human being, rather than sounding like it’s coming from a “bot.”

2. Don’t “set it and forget it.” You need to commit to blogging on a regular basis, not just when you have time to update.

3. Stay on topic, fresh, and relevant. Your content should not only be about your company and its services.

5. A blog is NOT advertising. It is a apparatus to be used in a comprehensive marketing strategy. If you need an ad, contact an agency. Use your blog to build networkingrelationships.

6. Spread the news and drive traffic to your blog. You can write the most useful content in the world, but if no one reads your blog, it may as well not even exist.

7. If you build it, they will come. Eventually. Blogging and social media do not net immediate results, nor do they ring cash registers in a noticeable way. Don’t give up on your blog until you know how effective it actually working as a small business web design.

Traffic Tactics For Your Blog

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

The blogging trend surely integrates in the second generation of web services know as Web 2.0 since this is the easiest way to make your own website for all Internet users. What is there for bloggers with Web 2.0? First of all, the whole aim of the new web-technology is to facilitate collaboration and sharing between users, on the one hand, and gain the usage rate on the other hand. The next good question that rises here is the best way to increase traffic in the conditions of the transition to sites that are of high quality articles.

First of all, we need to discuss here that with blogs web information is no longer centralized in terms of authority, not to mention that the freedom to use and re-use material is limitless. From a certain point of view blogs become a real market, in which content is the transaction environment. Hence, Web 2.0 traffic tactics primarily gravitate around the optimization of blog content for gain placement on the search engines. Perhaps it may be tempting, be sure not to aim too high form the beginning, it is clearly impossible to get a large amount of readers for the first day of your blog.

The key to acquiring good traffic is to keep on going and service quality. Articles has to be refreshed every week if not more often; in order to make that an simpler task, it is ok to change some of the content, even if you don’t substitute it all. With the large number of applications available with Web 2.0, by pacing a Google search box directly on the bolg, so that the visitor can use it to do any further search without leaving your blog page. What’s in it for you? The point is your visitor may spend more time on your blog and, maybe, you increase the chances of them returning to your blog.

Visitors have become more interested in blogs that have RSS feeds; well, you’ll have to let Internet users know that as soon as you can! In the begining, graphics were the best means to let the readers know of an RSS feed; the best advantage now is that you may adjust the very colors used for this graphic to the theme or topic specific to the blog itself. The system is made in such an easy to use way that all you have to do is enter the text and the color scheme and then a feed button is generated right away.
