Article Marketing Tutorial

Article marketing consists of a company’s promotion via informative materials that are directly related to the specifics of a business. Marketers have a lot to gain from this form of cheap advertising: they make profit, attract more clients and increase sales. When it comes to developing this kind of exposure not everybody knows where to start. Some people will even try to take an article marketing course as a form of training, but such education is not always suitable and advantageous.

An article marketing course could be a big scam, and normally one does not have to pay for information that is offered for free on many websites. There are many sources to learn about article marketing and lots of them are free. The mechanisms of the system are not too complex: here is an example. Let’s assume that you sell fountain pens. You can target a market niche by writing valuable content on topics that people are interested in; examples of topics here are ‘The History of Fountain Pens’, ‘How Fountain Pens work’, ‘Tips for choosing the right fountain pen’ and so on.

If you write such an article, you include one or more links in the content and you submit the material to directories, the investment will be minimal and the gains consistent. Such web content is posted either manually or automatically in the form of hundreds of thousands of entries. What could could you actually learn from an article marketing course? Well, there are few things that are really valuable in such forms of training, but we cannot deny their relevance occasionally. For example you may learn how to organize information to make it appealing to the web visitor. Yet, writing skills are not something to develop with a basic article marketing course.

Some smart and gifted people have a profession out of writing, as they provide web content to all sorts of service providers that activate on the electronic market. There are other possibilities to learn about article marketing besides courses. Talk to a business specialized in article writing and content submission to article directories, and for a small fee get the task done professionally and above the average quality level.

An article marketing course will hardly allow you to complete your training. Most people try their luck writing marketing articles themselves or paying freelancers for the job. Whichever be your situation, your goal is probably the same: that of increasing traffic and sales.

It Is So Essential To Get Backlinks To Your Blog

As a webmaster, you have probably heard about search engine optimization. Probably you have already applied several SEO techniques to promote your website. Backlinks are some of the main building blocks to good SEO. A backlink is an incoming link to your website received from another web page, site or directory. Let’s suppose that your website is about blogging. When another website from the same niche directs a backlink towards your website, you gain recognition and authority. This means that Internet users will find your website much easier when they search for a specific term or word on the web.

Search engines use the number of backlinks received by a website to determine its reputation on the web (page rank). Not all links are equally important; some may even harm your website! For example, if a website was penalized by Google for promoting illegal or immoral content and that website links to your website or vice versa, your website will be become less popular, being ignored by search engines.

It doesn’t make sense to receive backlinks from web pages that link back to a large number of different websites. You should rather try to get backlinks from websites with PR 0 or no PR, because their popularity might increase over time. Besides this, every link directed towards your website matters, because it represents a favorable vote from Google. To evaluate the quality of a backlink, you should consider its popularity, Page Rank and authority.

How to get backlinks to your website? Well, there are several ways to do it. It’s highly recommended to opt for web pages and directories that link back to your website without asking you to do the same. When launching a new website, most webmasters join free web directories, which is good for increasing the website visibility on the Internet. Another way to promote your site consists in publishing your articles and posts in article directories. People, like search engine spiders, can read the article and then visit your website.

Getting backlinks from reputable websites with a high Page Rank is the most effective way to promote your website in search engines. A high Page Rank can be achieved by increasing the number of backlinks to your page. The more backlinks your page has, the higher your PR will be.

The most important is to provide quality content. No one will visit your website if there’s nothing interesting to read about. Even if you sell something, you must do it in a unique way. Don’t try to fool your visitors and don’t underestimate them. Offer unique and accurate information to gain their loyalty. Get involved in discussions and post on forums. Don’t forget about social networks, which are a powerful marketing tool.

Use relevant keywords and focus on the anchor text and webpage content congruency, because this is what your visitors will see. For example, if you write about weight loss, use the word “weight loss” not only in your articles, but also in the website URLs and titles. This is the best way to increase your website visibility.

Ingredients Of A Successful Strategy For Backlinking

What is a backlink strategy? This is simply a description of the strategy a website owner follows to get other websites to link back to his website. The popular misconception is that as far as this goes the more the better. Many “SEO experts” have become rich from selling virtually worthless backlinks.

No doubt you have also heard that Google is crazy about links. That the more incoming links you have to your website, the higher it will be ranked in search results. This was after all how Google started off – the researchers developed a ground breaking way to rank search results in terms of backlinks, right?

Right and wrong. Google is not quite that stupid to only take a look at the number of incoming links to a website to decide whether it will be ranked on the first page of search results or the last. If that were true anyone could quickly set up ten thousand pages with links back to his own website and get listed in the number one spot for whatever he wants.

The important issue for Google is not quantity but quality. They have never published the exact algorithm they use to rank the listing of web pages, but it’s fairly certain that they don’t simply look at the number of incoming links to a site, but to the quality of those links as well.

How does Google do this? The answer once again makes a lot of sense. Suppose you had a website about dogs. Everything about dogs, what they like, what they don’t like, what to feed them and when. So you get the local vet to link to your site from his, and you link back to him. Down the road is another guy also with a website about dogs. His articles about dogs are so good that he gets the American Dog Owner’s Association to link back to his website. Which website do you think Google would list first in search results? Why?

Should you become clever now and get the local vet, as well as ten small shops to link to you and you also buy 5 000 links on the Internet, Google should surely wake up and rank you first, shouldn’t they?

What do you expect will happen? The answer is simple: nothing. Google will still rank the website with the link from the American Dog Owner’s Association above yours. The reason: That one link is from a website visited by thousands of people every day and they have numerous other well-known websites linking to them. Furthermore the content on his website is relevant and in the same category as the content on the website linking to him.

Getting links back to your website from highly regarded websites is not easy though. If you know what you are talking about, one possible solution is to start writing articles and submit them to article directories. Mostly you won’t get paid for them, but you will be able to include a backlink to your website.

Writing articles for top quality article directories, a strategy known as article marketing, will also get you some worthwhile backlinks, since they allow you to link back to your site from the article. And if your articles are as good as you think, they will eventually be syndicated – other websites will publish them as well and also link to your site. As a backlink strategy this will be much more effective than buying low-quality links.

How to Use Article Marketing to Get a Ton of Traffic and Backlinks

One of the crucial techniques for getting traffic to your website and the backlinks that are necessary for search engine optimization (SEO) is article marketing.  Articles have an important role in promoting your business online and this is primarily through backlinks or the links that are placed on the articles that point to your website.  Article marketing can help explode the traffic to your website and in turn increase your sales in two basic ways.  One way is by generating the backlinks that are essential for SEO that in turn will have the effect of driving traffic to your site.  The second way is made available by the tendency of people to inform other people regarding your helpful and informative articles, or through the process of word-of-mouth or viral advertising.

The ranking of your site is calculated by search engines for a keyword or phrase that are related to the focus of your website.  One of the key SEO strategies is to maximize the number of quality backlinks that lead to your site and article marketing is an effective way of generating backlinks naturally.  Remember that the algorithms used by search engines place more emphasis on naturally created links as a way to counter underhanded SEO methods such as link farms.

People who were able to read your informative articles that you have submitted to publishers of online newsletters and e-zines, may also want to put your articles on their websites.  You can allow them to republish your articles as long as they maintain the backlinks on your articles.  To illustrate, you will be gaining 200 backlinks if 200 people decide to republish your article, which will definitely upgrade your rank in the search engine results pages.

It is but natural that this will become even more effect after some time because more people would have republished your articles.  In time, viral advertising comes into play as the people who have read your articles inform their friends about them.  You become recognized as an expert for a particular field and more and more people would want to read your articles and bloggers may even place links to your site on their posts.  It is expected that this will have a snowball effect that would prove to be very beneficial for your business as traffic to your site explodes.

However, it is necessary that your articles are of high quality and provide helpful information or you would have very few readers.  Luckily, quality article writing services are available for those who do not have the passion or time to write.

BREAKING NEWS: Assistance for all WordPress Bloggers

About me

I am self taught and have closely followed the evolution of Internet Marketing for just over five years. Every week I am overwhelmed with questions on my blog from people struggling with Internet marketing. Naturally my work earns me a modest ’salary’ but I have a genuine reason for doing what I do and this is to help people who are genuinely trying to make a living to support them selves and their dependents.

From my work I know that probably fifty percent of the Internet marketing community are genuine people but the issue is a significant number of these ‘marketers’ are not very adept at what they do and teach. Until now I have focused publishing my experiences to a tiny group of websites because their owners have been very useful in helping me with my testing.

Over Six hundred products tested

This represents just over six hundred ‘products’ that I have reviewed over a period of nearly five years, obviously a number of them are obsolete and I will only be including ‘products’ that are still available. Every product review is a direct result of me using the product for real and naturally I will be sharing the rough and the smooth with my audience.

Simple to use and organised index

To help you make the decisions that will work best for you I am going to organise the product summaries into a simple and easy to use framework and every product will be classified by the level of  knowledge required, amount you can expect to pay, effort and how soon you can expect to see results.

First Edition – The ‘blueprint’ for WordPress blog success

The first subject I’m going to tackle is WordPress Blogs as this is not just a great subject for newbies to begin but many blog owners don’t appreciate the opportunities they are missing. Everyone should have a blog and I am passionate about blogging as a significant amount of my ’monthly salary’ comes from blogs but and however I am fully aware that setting up a blog can be not straightforward so if you join my list I will show you step by step how to do this.

Create once and replicate

Blogs are brilliant in as much once you get one working correctly and earning ‘its keep’ then you simply replicate it. I have a fundamental rule of ‘getting a rope across the river’ before commencing on any significant amount of work so I always commence with constructing a ’concept car’ that I develop into a blueprint that I can evaluate, improve and replicate, to do this you have to really understand what products and strategies you need to use.

No bullshit, just answers.

So if you own a WordPress blog or you want some practical and personal help with your purchases of Internet Marketing products then please do sign up to my list at www.backlinksclinic.com.

See you there

The key aim of this article is to acquaint you with main merits and drawbacks of shared hosting.

First of all we must give a definition of the term “shared hosting”. So, what is shared hosting?

Shared hosting is such kind of providing space for web sites on the hoster’s server when you share this server with other customers’ web sites. All web sites use the same software and operating system. But unlike free web hosting which has the same conditions, with shared web hosting you have much more benefits.

Shared web hosting can be divided into two subtypes:

Free Shared Hosting is the best choice for trying some new ideas and not paying for hosting. This type of web site hosting provides you with everything necessary for floating your site. Of course you should not expect the best conditions for your site. Bandwidth and Disk Space is limited. This type of shared hosting may not ensure you with MySQL, PHP support. Web statistics is also poorly provided.

Paid Shared Hosting provides such necessary features, as multiply e-mail, MySQl, PHP are supported. You may use it if you want to host small business web site, intermediate or large professional site but don’t need the whole server’s space.Using shared hosting you get a good possibility to host your site on a powerful, well administrated server at a low monthly cost.

So now we can pick out pros and cons of shared hosting:
Pros
• Low cost
• Good server administration
• Multiply e-mail, MySQL, PHP support
• You don’t need some unique knowledge in web site and server administration
Cons

• Resource limitation -everybody uses the same memory, CPU and HardDrive.
• You can use only the software which is provided with your hosting company, and correspondingly you can’t install your own.
• Some available ports and connections can be limited because of security policy).

The main feature of shared hosting is that you don’t need to worry about about possible server problems. Your hosting company’s support service is to fix all troubles. So, when choosing shared hosting you must carefully look at company support’s quality, the better quality of support – the better conditions for your site.

eCommerce SEO Tips

According to Nielsen net ratings, every month, about half of all search engine queries are unique. This statistic, although vague and seemingly insignificant, is actually the greatest factor behind why eCommerce Soltuions fare so well in search. We interpret the statistic like this: Half of all searches cannot be predicted, the other half can be. Great. So what does that have to do with eCommerce?

The reason why eCommerce and SEO are better for each other than Forrest was for Jenny is due to the massive amount of content contained within the average eCommerce solution and that content’s ability to target both predictable and unpredictable (long-tail) search phrases. eCommerce solutions have a major advantage over any other database driven site for a number of reasons.

ad

Abundant Content: Unlike a blog, article directory or content managed site, thousands of search engine friendly pages can be literally uploed and indexed by the search engines.

Easy Unique Content: A product or category page needs a few tech specs and a brief description. As long as that content is unique to the site, a webmaster can litter the search engines with products and categories. The time it would take for a blog or content managed site to reach that same level using unique content is staggering.

Targeting the Predictable & Unpredictable: Category pages can be targeted for predictable searches like “red widgets.” Product pages can capture the unpredictable ones like “red widgets with tassels”(provided they contain keyword-rich descriptions). So how can you make the most of your eCommerce solution in the search engines? As promised here is a list of 25 general tips. Most Importantly:

Pick the right solution: Get an eCommerce provider that allows you to do everything we mention in this list. And hey, what do you know? Bridgeline’s eCommerce Solution lets you do all of this… Crazy how that works out, no?

Onsite eCommerce Optimization Tips

Unique title tags: The content contained within should not be repeated verbatim within the site.

Put your site name after the product or category name in the title tag: Use your site to Brand, use your search engine listing to get clicks.

Unique meta data: Take the time to make your meta data (description & keywords) unique for each page. Obviously, that can be tricky if you have 10,000 skus, so try and get your developer to populate that area with the product description.

Use H1 tags: And put your keywords in them. Go to your source. Search for ‘

Use more than manufacturer data: If your product pages only contain the specs and descriptions that your manufacturer provides, the search engines will lump that product page together with the hundreds of other ones out there with the same specs and descriptions, meaning it won’t find its way into the search engine result pages (SERPS).

Take the time to add unique copy to your product and category pages

Link to other products and categories from that copy

Use alt tags: I know. I heard too. They’re useless. Use them anyway. SEO is about a conglomeration of variables, not a single supreme one.

Have a clear category tree: Search engines like that.

Use a search engine friendly navigation: Text links are best. Don’t like text and want to use images? Make sure you use alt tags. Using flash or doing postbacks? Stop that!

Create an XML based sitemap and put it in Google webmaster tools

Offsite eCommerce Optimization (Link Building) Tips

Link building is incredibly difficult for eCommerce sites because no one wants to link to your drop shipping site when they can link to the real thing or Target.com. Here is what you need to know:

Build domain authority: Domain authority is basically a measure of the number of high quality sites linking to yours. The more the better. So how do you get those?

Buy them: The quickest, easiest way to get Domain authority is to buy it at Text-Link-Ads.com. Unfortunately, it ain’t cheap.

Take your nique products and promote them in the online community: Get out into the online community, target some top bloggers in or around your industry and try to get them talking about your unique product. Again, this doesn’t really work for drop shippers because no one is going to link to your site when there are more reputable ones out there to link to so…

Put Something On Your site worth linking to: Compile a great list of resources, make how-to videos, develop a calculator, or other custom tool. If your products aren’t unique and link-friendly, you’ll need some site content that is.

Submit to directories: If you go to the forums they’ll tell you to submit to hundreds or thousands of directories. Don’t. Those are not high quality links, they don’t transmit domain authority, and they’ll only waste your time… What you need to do is find lists that bloggers or independent webmasters have made. If you must, submit to the directories, but be certain they are specific to your industry.

Submit articles: Again, the forums will tell you to submit as many articles as humanly possible. What I’m telling you is this:

o Write 3-5 quality articles on topics that people are talking about in your industry (like what I’m doing here).

o Submit the articles to a bunch of article directories.

o Link to those articles from your homepage.

o Link to your homepage from those articles

o Link Sculpt: Place a nofollow tag on any link that doesn’t point back to your homepage.

o Go to relevant blogs and forums where topics pertaining to those articles are being discussed, and drop links back to them.

Link exchanges: Despite popular opinion, still work… just don’t go overboard.

Deep link: Meaning, repeat 1-6 for your major categories.

Buy blog reviews: Go to sponsoredreviews.com or payperpost.com and buy some reviews from RELEVANT bloggers and point them back at your category or product pages. You’ll see a boost. It won’t last forever, but it will leave you in better standing than you were in to begin.

Answer questions on forums: And link back to your site in the signature

Outsource to India: There are plenty of Indians looking to make a buck on forums like Digital Point. They’ll generally do everything that I just mentioned from 1-10 and they’ll do it for cheap

Making “Friends” With The Competition is Good SEO

Before you start creating your own business blog it doesn’t hurt to check out what the competition is doing. This is not only a form of market research that allows you to see what readers might be interested in, it is also a way of preventing yourself from making the same mistakes as your competitor.

However the main reason to check out your competitor’s site is to see if you are mining from the same informational sources. It is a good idea to make your content as different from your competition’s as possible and to take cues from what your competitor is doing that works to make your own blog more successful.

A competition’s blog can also be a valuable source of PR for you. Every time you enter a comment on your competitor’s blog you can add a link back to your blogging site. This ensures that you are placing yet another link to your blog in a place where it is sure to be appreciated by interested visitors.

Bloggers love comments because readers who are engaged in a discussion in the comments section will return to a page again and again. Some popular blogs have hundreds of comments on some entries, and for every commenter you can be sure there are dozens who are following along but who do not care for whatever reason to get involved in the discussion. Comment areas will usually allow you to enter your email address and blog address in addition to your name, so for every comment you make, you’re insuring that another link to your blog is placed in front of people who might be interested in what you have to say.

However before you leave any kind of spam or negative commentary remember that your competitor may do the same to you on your blog. Ultimately this just makes both blog businesses look bad.
