I was very excited today to receive an email from Edwin announcing the new Bookmarking Demon 5 release. I quickly downloaded BMD5 and after playing with it for a couple of hours this morning, I am quite impressed with the new features that were added. Although the look is still similar to BMD4, the layout has been completely revamped and is much better organized. However, as a longtime BMD owner, I know that Edwin is really fast with the updates, so I am sure all these issues will be addressed in due time.

You can import the lists of URL’s that you want to submit or you can automatically let the program crawl your site and create a huge list of URL’s and anchor text automatically.

Not all of the signups may be successful and that is one of this frustrating things about BD but it is understandable since these sites are continually trying to thwart people from using automation. You can then choose to go back and sign up for the failed ones manually or just go with the ones that were successful. In the end though, the main thing is that you will be getting these backlinks much faster than you could ever do manually and if you miss a few sites it really doesn’t matter.

When you start a new site and have no incoming links at all, it is especially nice to have Bookmarking Demon because you can at least get the ball rolling. By having some links coming to your new website from the major bookmaking sites, this will at least give Google and Yahoo something to follow and they might find your site that way.
